Most people think that architects build with materials such as concrete, stones, wood… I always thought the opposite, architecture is born from emptiness and therefore it is built from intangible materials such as light, space or time.


Now the question is how to build a light that can be touched? Or an air so thick that you feel it when you walk?


I have tried to investigate these questions and I have observed that if there is a typology where architects can play freely with all these elements, it is the religious one. That is why in the last few months I am mapping and documenting the most amazing pieces of religious architecture in Switzerland.


It will take me a while to show you more, so for now I will just leave you with a question. Can faith be built?

This is my most ambitious photographic project, that tries to address the differences between the various linguistic regions of Switzerland.

 How a country of such a small size can have three such distinct regions?
What are their differences in terms of architecture, economic drivers
 or people?

 And what are the elements that act as a boundary between them?Can an incomplete medium such as photography give us answers to these questions?

Architecture


Photographing architecture is a complex discipline due to the requirements of a language strongly marked since the invention of perspective by Brunelleschi. 

I have been accepting commissioned work as an architectural photographer Since 2010. My extensive experience as an architect helps me to understand design decisions and to enhace the architectural values of the projects.

Based in Zürich, Switzerland, I am also available for assignments abroad.
